School Meals and Food

School Meals Menu

School meals are cooked on the premises and pupils are given a three choice, pre order, menu system so children can avoid items they don’t like. Vegetarian meals and special diets can be catered for. All requests must be made in writing to the Head of School, with details from the pupil’s doctor or dietician where appropriate.

The school has a healthy eating policy and sweets, chocolate bar and nuts may not be brought onto the school premises (nuts are not allowed due to pupils with severe nut allergies in school.)

All children during school lunch must conform to acceptable standards of behaviour both in and out of the dining room.

We need a written request from parents if there is to be a change in arrangements. A minimum of two weeks notice must be given for any change affecting school meals.

R, Year 1 and Year 2 get Dinners for free as part of the universal free school meals initiative led by Government.

From February 2023 Nursery will pay £2.41 per day.

From February 2023 Key Stage 2 (Year 3 – Year 6) children will pay £2.41.

Packed Lunches

To ensure packed lunches are kept in line with a healthy school meal we have a Packed Lunch Policy (available on the school web site). This policy explains what a healthy packed lunch should contain and also lists items which are not allowed in packed lunches. Children will be provided with water and should not bring in any drinks for the packed lunch.

Drinking Water

We feel that access to water is essential to the welfare of our children. We encourage every child to drink throughout the day and provide water bottles in the classroom for each of them. Parents are asked to not send water bottles in to school as we cannot provide adequate storage.

Snack

The children can bring fruit in as a snack for break times.
